The Community Development Department oversees planning, building, and business licensing for the City of Loxley. Staff assist residents, contractors, developers, and business owners with permits, inspections, business licenses, zoning questions, and development applications.

Business License
All businesses operating within the City of Loxley must obtain a business license prior to beginning operations. This includes businesses located within the city limits as well as those performing work within the city.
Building and Construction
The Building Department helps guide construction projects from permit to completion. Staff review permit applications, conduct inspections, and work with homeowners, contractors, and developers to ensure projects meet the City’s adopted building codes. Permits can be submitted through the online permitting.
Planning and Zoning
The Planning and Zoning Department administers the city’s zoning and subdivision regulations and reviews development applications such as rezonings, subdivisions, and variances. Staff also provide support to the Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment.
